Peridot in your terminal
Install

- One file, nothing else to install
- Open source on GitHub: Peridot-AI/peridot-cli
Sign in
Run /login once. Peridot opens your browser to sign in with email or Google.
- Your token is stored in ~/.config/peridot, readable only by you
- PERIDOT_TOKEN uses another token, handy for scripts and CI
Your project
The folder you start peridot in is the workspace. Signed in, Peridot can read, search and edit files there and run commands, never outside it.
- Paths outside the folder are refused, also through symlinks
- It warns you when you start it in your home folder
- The same tools and limits as the desktop app
You stay in control
Manual approval shows exactly what will change before every edit or command. Shift+Tab switches to auto approval.
- Ctrl + C stops the answer and any command still running
- The current mode is shown under the input
Commands
/model, /usage, /resume, /team, /plugin, /login and more. Type / to see them all, !command runs a shell command yourself.
- /usage shows your limits, usage per model and a token heatmap
- /resume continues an earlier conversation
- /cowork plans the work and shows its progress
- Tab or → completes a command, ↑ and ↓ recall earlier messages
Your AI team
Create bots with /team and the agent hands them parts of a job. They work in parallel and report back, and the team is shared with the desktop app.
- /team add, /team list and /team graph
- Each bot has its own role, instructions and tools
Plugins
/plugin searches, installs and removes plugins. Their commands appear next to the built-in ones.
- Every plugin is reviewed before it is listed
- Installed plugins are shared with the desktop app
